PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- Accelerated Construction Program
- Defect Free Handover
- High Security Works
Built in just 11 months, this new state-of-the-art facility has the capacity and functionality to meet the present and future demands of policing in the community.
The two-storey complex offers a large range of operations facilities such as administration areas, a watch house, sally port, interview and conference rooms, a staff gym and amenities. The project also included minor civil works such staff and visitor car parking, secure parking provision for stolen transport as well as minor landscaping works.
The main architectural feature of the building is the expansive perforated metal screens that run the entire length of the facade, patterned with indigenous Australian artwork. Internally, the finishes are modern and sophisticated, featuring exposed glu-lam ceiling beams, timber veneer joinery and bright LED strip lighting.
One of the strategies utilised to achieve practical completion on time was dedicating a considerable amount of resources on subcontractor procurement very early on, letting trade packages as soon as possible. There were a number of highly detailed, specialised services contractors required to be coordinated and more than 70 subcontracts awarded during the project.
Despite an accelerated construction program of 11 months on site, our team achieved an excellent quality build, forming great working relationships with the architect, superintendent and Victoria Police.
