The North Metropolitan TAFE Joondalup project involved the construction of a state-of-the-art training hub designed to meet the growing demands of both the automotive and agricultural sectors. Central to the facility is the Electric Vehicle (EV) Automotive Training Centre, which is poised to play a key role in preparing students for careers in WA’s evolving clean energy landscape. The centre offers specialised training in the latest EV technologies, ensuring graduates are equipped to meet the rising demand for skilled workers in this emerging field.
With an expansive workshop capable of housing up to nine vehicles and three advanced technical labs, students receive hands-on training in diagnosing, inspecting, and servicing electric and hybrid vehicles. More than 100 students each semester will benefit from courses focused on cutting-edge automotive systems, providing industry professionals the opportunity to upskill in battery and hybrid vehicle technology.
In addition to its automotive facilities, the building offers a range of laboratories tailored for horticultural studies, featuring modern innovations such as drone usage and precision irrigation systems. This multi-functional facility highlights our expertise in delivering innovative educational environments, combining technology and sustainability to support future industry needs.
“The Government's investment in this new Electric Automotive Vehicle Training Centre positions North Metropolitan TAFE at the forefront of EV technology training, and is key to the Government’s broader efforts to build the skilled workforce needed for WA's clean energy transition.”
