This major refurbishment to Diamond Valley College’s existing school buildings delivered a new 150-seat Performing Arts Theatre and a Resource Centre. The Performing Arts Theatre is a multipurpose area that will cater for the school’s music and drama performances, lecture presentations, assemblies and information evenings. The Resource Centre was strategically designed and built to provide flexible study spaces, mobile resources and quiet reading zones for students to utilise as required.
Associated with these major new facilities are also general purpose classrooms, music practice rooms and staff offices. There is also a ‘Maker Space’ to support the school’s growing digital technology programs where students can experiment with electronics, 3D printers, robotics and computer programming.
The project was a good challenge for our team due to a tight construction program and limited school funding. However, our team managed to complete both buildings concurrently ahead of program.
