PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- Nationally Accredited Outdoor courts
- Significant Hazardous Materials Removal
- Staged Project Delivery
The Richmond High School Sports Precinct included the construction of a new single storey gymnasium and a state-of-the-art indoor sports court; a temporary classroom to house the Year 7 students; and a complete structural and internal fitout of the building. Externally, the project included 3 nationally accredited outdoor multipurpose courts; hard and soft landscaping; and a refurbishment of the Citizen’s Park fence.
The site was heavily contaminated with Category B and C material, far more than the original environmental report suggested. McCorkell helped to drive the value management of the contaminated soil removal methodology by proposing to utilise some of this material under the suspended external sports courts of this facility.
In addition to this, with further review with the design team, we were able to raise the external court slab heights by 150mm to further increase the amount of contaminated soil fill that could be kept on site. This methodology helped the client with significant value management.
