Following on from the success of the Ruyton Girls’ School Margaret McRae Centre, McCorkell was engaged to complete the redevelopment of the existing primary school facility, on an Early Contractor Involvement basis.
Works in the live education environment comprised of the refurbishment to the existing teaching and administration facilities and construction of new teaching spaces to create a powerful three-level learning hub. The challenge was to integrate two dark and disparate buildings from different eras into a light, warm unified space where a love of learning, curiosity, and creativity could be fostered and embraced.
The new campus provides flexible learning spaces and a seamless flow from indoors to out. The vast central hub imbues the junior campus with a strong sense of connection.
