PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- Restrictive Site Access
- Live Operating Environment
- Environmentally Sustainable Design
The Mt Henry Special Needs Dental Clinic showcases McCorkell’s ability to deliver technically complex community health projects with precision and care. Constructed on a site surrounded by significant existing vegetation, the build required careful planning and protection measures to preserve the mature trees that define the setting. Our team implemented detailed site management and excavation controls to ensure these trees remained untouched throughout construction.
The single-storey facility is a first of its kind in Western Australia and features specialist dental suites, clinical support areas, and patient-centred waiting spaces, all designed with accessibility, sensitivity, and comfort in mind for the most vulnerable in our community. Externally, striking timber batten screens provide both solar shading and visual warmth, giving the building its signature façade while complementing the natural surrounds. These feature elements demanded close coordination between design intent and construction sequencing, with our trades ensuring precise detailing and durable finishes.
Internally, high-quality joinery, integrated dental services and acoustic treatments were delivered to meet stringent clinical and operational requirements. The project also included complex mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems supporting specialist dental equipment, all installed under tight tolerances and rigorous quality control.
Delivered safely and efficiently within a live environment, the Mt Henry Special Needs Dental Clinic stands as a contemporary, purpose-built healthcare facility that integrates functionality, craftsmanship and landscape.
