PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Existing Structure Works
  • Feature Canopy Material
  • Stakeholder & Public Interface

The works included the demolition of the existing structure, bulk earthworks, concrete paving and landscaping. The building envelop comprises of a concrete slab, structural steel skeleton, masonry walls, aluminium windows and metal deck roofing. The internal works included masonry walls, glass face render, suspended timber ceiling, plasterboard lining, stainless steel Kitchen benches and toilet/ change room facilities.

The feature items of this building design include Corten weathering wall cladding as well as a waved shaped metal deck roof canopy.

The contract programme was centred on the handover of the clubrooms prior to the beginning of the baseball season. Timely procurement of subcontractors, services coordination and program sequencing enabled the tight programme to be achieved. Another key challenge was the installation of the wave feature roof, which was composed of a product called Aramax. Being a relatively new product, locating and procuring tradesman with previous experience in installing this product was essential to ensure a smooth and timely construction process.
