PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- Staged Project Delivery
- Restrictive Site Access
- Live Operating Environment
- Purpose-built Chemical Testing Labs
- Certified by NATA
- Stringent OH&S and Performance Specifications
This project involved the construction of purpose-built chemical testing laboratories for the testing and grading of petrochemical products at Esso Australia’s Long Island Point facility. The site is Victoria’s number one operating hazard facility. All works were completed within the most stringent OH&S and performance specifications.
The two-level concrete structure involved extensive site services, precise mechanical controlled testing labs, petroleum reticulation pipework, spark arresting facilities, extensive lab benches, special fume cupboards, and civil works.
The project involved a staged handover, stringent site access and interface co-ordination, working around an operating facility, and meeting the independent certification requirements of NATA for the testing laboratories. These challenges were met with thorough planning, extensive inspections, and test checklists.
