Mt Henry Special Needs Dental Clinic Wins at the 2026 Master Builders WA Excellence Awards

We are proud to announce that the Mt Henry Special Needs Dental Clinic has been awarded Health Facility Under $5 Million at the 2026 Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards.

The Master Builders WA Building Excellence Awards recognise outstanding achievement across Western Australia’s construction industry, celebrating projects that demonstrate excellence in innovation, quality, and delivery. This recognition reflects the dedication, collaboration, and expertise of the entire WA team in delivering a purpose-built healthcare facility that will provide lasting benefits to the community.

As the first specialised clinic of its kind in Western Australia, the Mt Henry Special Needs Dental Clinic was purposefully designed to provide accessible dental care for patients who may face barriers accessing traditional dental services due to developmental, intellectual, or physical disabilities. The project represents far more than a new healthcare facility. It provides a welcoming, supportive environment where patients, families, and carers can access essential services with greater comfort and confidence.

Designed with the user experience at its core, the fully accessible single-storey facility incorporates specialist dental suites, spacious treatment rooms, low-sensory clinical spaces, dedicated waiting areas, and covered wheelchair-accessible walkways. Carefully considered design elements including soft lighting, acoustic treatments, and calming material selections help create an environment tailored to the needs of its users.

Delivering the facility required a high level of planning, coordination, and technical expertise. Specialist dental equipment, high-quality joinery, and sophisticated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical services were integrated to meet stringent clinical requirements while maintaining the design vision. Through early engagement, strong communication, and close collaboration with the wider project team, McCorkell successfully delivered a facility that balances technical performance with warmth and accessibility.

A project of this nature is only possible through genuine collaboration. We are proud to have delivered the Mt Henry Special Needs Dental Clinic for our client, the Department of Housing and Works, in collaboration with SPH Architecture + Interiors and a committed team of consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders. Their collective expertise, shared vision, and dedication were instrumental in achieving this outstanding outcome.
