We’re proud to share that on 4 February 2026, McCorkell Constructions (WA) was named Best Contractor at the Department of Housing Works 2025 Supplier Performance Awards.
These awards acknowledge the suppliers and contractors who have delivered the strongest performance on WA Government non-residential projects over the past two years – across schools, health facilities, emergency services buildings and laboratories.
Being recognised in the contractor category reflects the consistent effort of our team to deliver quality outcomes, manage risk carefully, and work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to achieve the best result for the community. The projects that contributed to this award span education and health infrastructure across Western Australia. Let’s take a closer look…
North Metro TAFE – Joondalup Automotive Training Facility
A state-of-the-art training hub supporting WA’s automotive and agricultural industries, centred around an advanced Electric Vehicle (EV) Training Centre. The facility delivers hands-on, industry-aligned learning, accommodating up to nine vehicles and training more than 100 students each semester in next-generation diagnostics and servicing.
Wellard Village Primary School
A thoughtfully designed 60,000m² campus with capacity for up to 650 students. The project comprises seven architecturally distinct buildings including an administration centre, library, staffroom, early childhood building, two double-storey teaching buildings and one single-storey STEM studies centre. Extensive landscaping, hardcourts and supporting infrastructure round out the campus – creating a cohesive and functional learning environment.
Mount Henry Special Needs Dental Clinic
Western Australia’s first purpose-built dental clinic for patients with developmental, intellectual and physical disabilities. Delivered within a live operating environment, the project required careful staging to maintain services while introducing low-sensory treatment spaces and enhanced accessibility features.
Anne Hamersley Primary School
A new 1,850m² two-storey facility delivering 15 contemporary classrooms, specialist science spaces and upgraded amenities, alongside improved parking, landscaping and play areas.
Designed to accommodate a growing student population, the development enhances functionality across the campus while creating flexible learning environments that support collaboration and modern teaching practices.
Lakeland Senior High School Refurbishment
A comprehensive campus modernisation including refurbishment of the sports hall, new classrooms and staff facilities, plus delivery of a new natural grass sports oval and associated landscaping – supporting a growing school community.
The staged works were carefully managed to minimise disruption within a live school environment, ensuring continuity of learning while delivering upgraded facilities that better reflect the needs of today’s students and educators.
Caversham Valley Primary School
A significant expansion featuring a new 1,500m² two-storey teaching block designed to a 4-Star Green Star equivalency rating, effectively doubling the school’s capacity while embedding sustainability and accessibility throughout.
The project balances growth with long-term environmental performance, incorporating passive design principles and thoughtful spatial planning to create a dynamic and adaptable learning environment for future generations.
A Collective Achievement
This recognition belongs to our entire WA team and the trusted consultants, subcontractors and suppliers we work alongside.
We thank the Department of Housing Works for the acknowledgement and congratulate all fellow recipients. We look forward to continuing to deliver high-quality public infrastructure that supports Western Australian communities.
